Tommy Larry’s has been in our family as a home since 1915 and where Tommy Larry – our uncle – lived and worked the farm during all of his life. We still have cows, sheep, the farmyard cats, and 2 pet donkeys that keep a watching brief for carrots and other healthy treats from family and visitors alike. An oasis of tranquility, Tommy Larry’s is located on a quiet peninsula (Rossow in gaelic means “the peninsula of the river”) of Clew Bay on the western Atlantic coastline.
Nestled in the drumlin countryside, Tommy Larry’s overlooks an inlet of the sea known locally as “Corrie” where local farmers still harvest for seaweed and shellfish. Meet up and chat with your neighbours to find out more about life in rural Ireland.
You can climb the little hill behind the cottage to take in the spectacular views.
Tommy Larry’s Cottage is on the Wild Atlantic Way and ideally situated for visiting County Mayo and Connemara. You are located between Westport- 8kms (voted as Irelands tidiest town) and Newport – 3kms.
Achill Island – Irelands largest Island and Connemara are an hour’s drive from Tommy Larry’s.
Bicycles are available on the property if you wish to cycle the Greenway cycle route which goes along the former railway track from Westport to Achill Island.
The cottage has been carefully refurbished to retain its comfortable yet traditional Irish cottage ambiance. It can accommodate up to 6 people in 2 bedrooms (2 extra folding beds provided). Please visit the following pages and find out more about Tommy Larry's!
